Les brevets essentiels à une norme (SEP) sont des brevets protégeant une technologie essentielle à une norme.
Attention : les brevets ne sont pas inclus dans une norme, ni une norme est faite de brevets. En réalité, les organismes normatifs citent des brevets comme à l'origine de tout ou partie d’une norme. Cette citation ne repose que sur le contrôle fait par organismes de la véracité des déclartion des participants à la norme.

Dans Orbit Intelligence, les brevets cités dans une norme peuvent être recherchés directement à partir de la ligne de commande ou en filtrant une liste de résultats.
Recherche de normes à l'aide de la ligne de commande
Pour identifier la présence de normes dans tout brevet de la base de données, la commande STDN=YES peut être utilisée.
Pour cela, se rendre dans la recherche avancée, puis la section "Collections", cliquer sur "Voir la requête".
Pour rechercher tous les brevets contenant des normes d'une certaine organisation, la ligne de commande est ORG/STDN=ETSI.
Les normes spécifiques sont également consultables mais chaque organisation a sa propre méthodologie de dénomination. Les sections suivantes vous aideront à identifier le bon format de lignes de commande en fonction de la norme qui vous intéresse :

Filtrer les brevets déclarés dans les normes
Une autre façon d'identifier les brevets déclarés dans les normes est d'effectuer une recherche sur un sujet ou une société spécifique et de filtrer les résultats.
NB : si la section Normes n'est pas visible dans votre interface Filtre, lisez l'article Personnalisation des filtres pour savoir comment afficher ce filtre.
Une fois filtré sur les Brevets déclarés dans les normes, il est possible d'identifier dans quelle norme le brevet est déclaré.
Remarque importante : le fait qu'un brevet soit déclaré dans une norme ne signifie pas que ce brevet est essentiel à cette norme.
