The general concept of search history

The search history records almost all the searches you have done in Orbit Intelligence, on any of the 3 databases.

Each time you run a search, a search step is automatically created in the search history section. Intelligence stores the search statements and the context on the past 8 days of work.

From this interface, you can elaborate complex strategies with several search steps, combine them, remove some, and save as scripts (a saved search or an alert).

To erase all the search history, you have to select all the lines and then use the red cross button at the top left.

Combining steps & creating strategies

At the bottom of the screen, a section allows to combine the search steps.

Only the boolean operators can be used : AND, OR, NOTProximity operators will give unrelevant hits.

For example, in the displayed case, a first query (Step 1) containing keywords specific to the topic of interest is combined (with an OR) to a larger keyword search (Step 2) which has been limited to the technical domain related to "transport" (step 3) in order to avoid noise.

Once satisfied by the combination, the resulting documents can be reviewed by clicking on the Action button "Show results".

Up to 1000 steps can be created in the search history.

Where I can find the previous history ?

The former "previous history" interface has been migrated at the top right the search history interface, as you can now rely on it up to 8 days of work. If you need to recall an older search statement, you can access a text-version of your history with the button "Past sessions"
