What is ImageLink?
ImageLink is a feature allowing a simple cross-referencing between a patent image labels and the occurrences of those labels within the document.
It allows the reader to effortlessly navigate through patent documents using a user-friendly toolbar to access the corresponding text for a specific element in a patent image.
How to use it?
The feature can be utilized from:
- The Results' page: To quickly review patent images and understand the various elements.
- The Family View/Patent View: To gain a deeper understanding of each label within its context.
Results' page:
From the image tab on the right panel of the results page, activate the Labels List switch:
Hovering the mouse over each label, will highlight simultaneously the tag and its corresponding part on the image, enabling thus a quick review and understanding of the displayed content.
As you scroll through the results list, you can continue to utilize this feature as needed.
Family View/Patent View:
To better understand each label within its contextual framework, you can go to the Family View/Patent View mode by clicking on the record of interest:
Doing so and clicking on a selected image label, the corresponding text within the relevant section of the document will be highlighted:
The number of times the label is found within the specific part of the record will be displayed:
"No match found" is displayed when a label is not located in a specific section, but it still indicates the field where this occurs (e.g. 5 match(es) in DESCRIPTION).
If multiple matches are found within a field, you can navigate to the next or previous result using the arrows.
N.B.: In a patent publication, a figure is intended to illustrate the technical configuration of the invention that the patent owner aims to elaborate. However, the innovation and the scope of protection are not limited to those figures. A thorough examination of the patent should be conducted before drawing any conclusions.
