Orbit Intelligence offers a dedicated comprehensive module to search for designs and design patent registrations.
Two searching interfaces are available:
Quick Search
Title (Keyword) search:
- You can create your own query using keywords, truncators and operators to search in the title field. Non-Latin characters (Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese) are supported.
- In the absence of other truncation, the + truncation will automatically be placed to the left and right of your keywords.
- In the absence of other operators, the operator 9D is automatically placed between two words separated with a space.
- A comma separating two keywords will be replaced by the operator OR.
- Use foreign translations corresponding to the register's official language, e.g. for searches including English and Spanish registers add both English and Spanish words of interest.
Classification search:
You can search for Locarno classifications, available for all patent offices except for Canada, or national classifications from the Canadian, French, Japanese, Korean, GB and US patent offices.
In the absence of other truncation, the + truncation will automatically be placed to the left and right of your keywords.
A comma between two classification codes will be replaced by the OR operator.
A space between two classification codes will be replaced by the AND operator.
The formats* for the classification codes are as follows:
Locarno: NN – NN
US: DN/NNN. DNN/N.N; DNN/NNN
CA: NNN; NNN - NN; NNN-NN-NN
FR: NN; NN – C
GB: NN.NN.NN; NN.NN.NSC
